San Jose Sharks play-offs round Two

Adversity, thy friend is a Shark.

How exciting: San Jose BEAT the Los Angeles Kings in five games during the first round of the 20-15-2016 play-offs. Those of us who bleed teal had no doubt the Sharks would move on and leave the Kings wondering what happened. Game five, in Los Angeles, was a blow out win (6-3). It was clear the Sharks were out for blood. Donskoi scored twice,  along with Tierney, Nieto, Pavelski, and Karlsson for the added to the total goal tallies. It should be noted that the games in which Pavelski scores were the games the Sharks won (the only loss he didn't).

What happens next?

San Jose the home advantage against the Nashville Predators. This round should be interesting. The teams were close in stats during the regular season with Nashville having a slight edge in some areas and San Jose in others. In the end, San Jose ranked higher in the conference standings, hence the home ice. Alas, the Sharks were a better road team so they have to work at home wins. San Jose has a better power play but they still need to improve the penalty kill.

And for goodness sakes, PLEASE, quit screwing around with 'pretty-passing, and put more pucks on net!

Analysis by multiple sports writers in the hockey field have all selected San Jose to win the series. With their history, the series is the Sharks to lose. The team has the talent to score. Martin Jones has been solid in goal - the question will be can he remain so? Thankfully, James Riemer can step in. Our defensive squad is scary, headed by Brent Burns.

Don't get me wrong. The Preds shouldn't be underestimated. They did defeat Anaheim. Shea Weber, Roman Josi, Mattias, and Mattias Ekholm are the reason for the win. The team has Pekke Rinne in goal who stood on his head against the Ducks.

Should all goes as we hope and San Jose moves on, they will most likely face Dallas. This will be a major test.

We have faith in our Sharks. This is the team with a history of major upsets (remember the win over Detroit?).

Looking forward to round two, game one.

Go Sharks!

stay safe out there
